#Seven Seas Licenses Qualia The Purple Light Novel, BARBARITIES, Die Even More Valiantly, & LES MISÉRABLES Manga

Seven Seas Entertainment announced a series of new manga and light novel licenses for publication in North America. Qualia the Purple, BARBARITIES, Die Even More Valiantly, and a manga adaptation of LES MISÉRABLES will all be published for the English market in print and digital formats. 

Hisamitsu Ueo and Sirou Tsunasima’s Qualia the Purple is a romantic science fiction yuri thriller that asks what it means to be human when the humans look like robots to everyone else. Both the original light novel and complete manga collection has been licensed for publication in North America. 

The light novel is scheduled for release in November 2022 while the manga is set for release in June 2023. The light novel will be released in a single large volume while the manga will be collected into an omnibus collecting all three volumes of the series.   

Qualia the Purple is described as:

Through the uncanny purple eyes of Yukari, all people appear to her as robots. Her talent is both a blessing and a curse. She is able to assist the police in sizing up threats, since her “skill” allows her to evaluate humans’ quirks and physical capabilities like cataloging the parts of a machine–yet her strange sight has cost her the friendship of her peers. She does have one friend in her corner: Hatou “Gaku” Manabu, a girl at school who cares deeply for Yukari. When Yukari is recruited into a secret organization, the real trouble begins. Gaku is thrust into a realm of mystery, quantum experimentation, and alternate universes, with only her wits–and her love for Yukari–to guide her along the way.

Seven Seas also licensed Tsuta Suzuki’s BARBARITIES BL romance manga series, inspired by Renaissance Europe. The story follows a dashing viscount trying to woo a serious nobleman. 

The first volume will be published and released in January 2023 in large single volumes. 

The manga series is described as:

Yu Aida’s Die Even More Valiantly will also be making its way into North America for the first time. The action-packed, supernatural historical drama series comes from the creator of Gunslinger Girl. The story follows the adventures of a former samurai rebel and a mysterious young woman. The first volume is scheduled for release in October 2022. 

Seven Seas describes the series as:

Lastly, Seven Seas has also licensed and acquired the rights to publish Takahiro Arai’s LES  MISÉRABLES manga adaptation of Victor Hugo’s novel of the same name. Arai is most well known for his work in Cirque Du Freak: The Manga and Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time.

The manga will be fully collected and published in four large omnibus editions. The first omnibus will collect the first two volumes of the series and will be released in December 2022. 

The manga is described as:
