How To Defeat

The Oni Mask is Maguu Kenki’s one-of-a-kind mechanic. Across the whole brawl, it will utilize this Mask for a variety of assaults. Maguu Kenki will also start the battle with physical attacks. When it approaches approximately 70% HP, it will integrate Anemo into its attacks, and some of them will deal Cryo damage.

  • Because Maguu Kenku’s block is calculated by your distance from it, long-range characters could deal damage if they are within close combat range.
  • You can use any close combat character you’ve created. Add a shield-applying character to your squad as well. Having a shield will make a difference to some of the high-damage attacks from this boss.

Maguu Kenki Masks + Strategies

PROTECTIVE MASK: When Maguu Kenki doesn’t move, it casts an Oni Mask to secure itself from long-range assaults. This means that using long-range characters in this battle will place you at significant risk, so stay with close combat characters.

PUSHING MASK: Maguu Kenki will activate the Oni Mask and then throw it forward, causing damage to anything that gets in its way. To prevent getting hurt, dash to either side of it.

EXPLODING MASK: Maguu Kenki will place the Oni Mask on top of you, then explode it in a wide distance, causing Cryo damage. As soon as the boss begins to activate the mask, flee from it.

Maguu Kenki Phantoms + Strategies

CONSECUTIVE SLASH: The boss will transfer a fair distance and be replaced by a phantom. Both will charge for a brief period of time before dealing damage in a circular pattern around themselves. To avoid this attack, simply run away from both Maguu and his phantom.

WHIRLWIND SLASH: Maguu Kenki will sheath its blade and take the Iai stance, casting a phantom to its position. The boss will pull you towards it whilst the blade is sheathed. It will assault in a tight circle around itself after a brief wait, followed by a massive circular slice from the phantom. This attack can be evaded by sprinting out of the whirlpool and avoiding being pulled in.

FLOWING WATER: The boss will call forth the phantom and then retreat a short distance. The phantom will first attack you with a surge of elemental energy. Maguu Kenki then attacks you with three rapid slices, deploying ripples of Anemo damage. This assault can be evaded by running steadily to the side of the assault, just like the standard Flowing Water.

Other Moveset

SLASH: The boss will chop three times in a row. He’ll try to re-aim towards your character after every chop. Because Maguu Kenki cannot relocate during the period of this assault, it could be evaded by plainly dashing away.

SHADOWRUSH: Maguu Kenki’s blade will be gradually sheathed as it enters Iai stance. It will sprint forward into you after a slight pause, causing damage to anything in its direction. You can evade this attack by leaping to the side as soon as the boss sheathes his blade.

WHIRLWIND SLASH: Maguu Kenki will slash in a circular pattern after sheathing its blade and entering Iai stance. Once Maguu Kenki has stowed his blade, try to get as far away as possible.

FLOWING WATER: The boss will slash 3x, launching slicing ripples in your direction. To prevent taking damage, leap to either side and run until the offensive is finished.

FROST DIVE: Maguu Kenki will activate a second Cryo sword before striking both swords into the surface and inflicting Cryo damage in a wide circle around himself. As soon as the boss summons the Cryo sword, run as fast as you can away from it.
