#Peacemaker: Season Two; John Cena Series Renewed by HBO Max

Christopher Smith’s alter ego will be back in action. HBO Max has renewed the Peacemaker TV series for a second season. James Gunn will once again direct and write all of the episodes. The first season’s finale will be released tomorrow.

An HBO Max superhero/supervillain series, the Peacemaker TV show stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Chukwudi Iwuji, and Robert Patrick. The story explores the origins of Christopher Smith (Cena) aka Peacemaker from the 2021 film The Suicide Squad. He’s a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. Other characters include A.R.G.U.S. agents John Economos (Agee) and Emilia Harcourt (Holland), sociopathic Adrian Chase (Stroma) aka Vigilante, and Auggie Smith (Patrick), Peacemaker’s racist father.

Season One Finale Debuts February 17

The eight-episode first season of the DC spinoff series premiered on Thursday, January 13 and will have its finale on February 17. Gunn will direct and write all episodes for season two.
