#How New Moms Can Get The Most Out Of Their Free Time?

#How New Moms Can Get The Most Out Of Their Free Time?

We all know that alone time can be rare when you’re a parent. For moms, time completely alone can be a real treat that can happen so infrequently that you may struggle for ideas.

Here are some great ways to cherish your precious alone time so that you can replenish your energy:

1. Stomp Around Outside

Being a mom can drive you stir crazy sometimes. Everyone seems to need something from you, so getting out into nature can be just what you need to get your heart pumping and replenish your energy. Enjoy the sounds of sweet silence out in nature and maybe go for a walk without the weight of the world on your back!

2. Go Shopping

Shopping with your kids can be a real challenge and often a bit of an ordeal,” says Lindsay Green, a mom blogger at Dissertation Help and Custom Writing. “Between clipping and unclipping them from their car seats, avoiding crowds, watching breakables, stopping for snacks… it can be exhausting! Enjoying a stress-free shopping experience on your own is just bliss.”

Time on your own at the shops can be special. You can really relish browsing and try outfits on peacefully in the changing rooms. Revel in the joy of not having to think about the whereabouts of your little angels for a few precious hours.

3. Read A Book

Like seriously?

Who has any free time to read? If you can grab a few precious moments, why not finally get to those books that have been gathering dust since your kids were born?

Even better, get out of the house to your local coffee shop with that book that you’ve been desperate to read. This could be the day you finally make it to the last page.

If you haven’t got the energy for a whole book, just grab a trashy magazine and enjoy submerging yourself in the nonsense for a little while.

At a coffee shop, you can have the added bonus of sipping your coffee without having to grab it to go to avoid your kids grabbing all the cookies and knocking over drinks!

4. Eat A Dessert

For one blissful moment, you don’t need to be a shining example of immaculate nutrition.

Forget the antioxidants and vitamins. This is your moment to eat the most blissful, calorific dessert without having to share it or feel guilty.

My choice? A cream-filled, chocolate éclair. Bliss.

5. Take A Trip To The Spa

It has probably been a while since you’ve been able to have a bath without having to pick out the plastic toys first, let alone actually stepping into a spa.

Try grabbing a quick hour at your local spa, so you can turn off your phone and lose yourself in a good magazine, while you have a manicure or a neck massage.

If you can’t get to a spa in your time off, then try and create the ambience at home. A lovely bubble bath, face mask and a glass of wine will almost convince you that you’re there for real. Just remember to hide the bath toys first!

6. Kid-Free Screen Time

Real quality time with the TV remote and a bucket of popcorn. Completely your choice what you get to watch and no-one begging to share your ice cream. Could there be anything better?

Maybe you just want an afternoon to binge watch Gilmore Girls without anyone moaning or asking for a drink. This is your moment.

7. Nap Your Heart Out

Moms RARELY get a full night’s sleep. So if you live in a permanently exhausted state, then just use this free time to curl up in bed and nap,” says Georgina Mifflin, a parenting writer at Paper Fellows and Essay Writer. “Like really nap. Wake up, think about getting lunch and then go back to sleep. Enjoy this moment.”

Free time as a mom should really benefit your well-being and this is the quickest way to do that. If you really need sleep, get it while you can and enjoy it completely guilt free.

8. Dance

It is time to crank up the volume and let your favourite tunes play loud. Sing along at the top of your voice. Listen to some old tunes from your high school years that really get you feeling good. Dance and really rock it out.

One of the benefits of free time is that there are no partners around to judge your music choices and no kids to overhear the less savoury lyrics.
