#Hollywood Narrowly Avoids Mass Strike As IATSE And AMPTP Reach A Deal

Though a strike has been avoided and productions will resume as usual on Monday, there’s one last step before the new contracts go into effect. Just as IATSE members voted (in overwhelming numbers) to authorize a strike, they still have to give their vote to approve the agreed-upon deal. The exact details of the new deal aren’t yet available, but a source close to the negotiations told Deadline it’s a “fair deal for everyone concerned.”

Assuming that the IATSE vote goes in favor of ratifying the new agreement, Hollywood’s film crews can hopefully look forward to a better, safer, and more stable future as they work to make the films and TV shows we all love.
