HIDIVE has announced that it has acquired the exclusive streaming rights to the Love Flops original anime series. The anime is set to premiere on October 12, 2022 in Japan and HIDIVE will stream it as part of its Fall 2022 lineup. 

The production team for Love Flops include Yoshinobu Nagayama (Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan) as director, Midori Yui (Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) and Fujiaki Asari (Higurashi: When They Cry – Sotsu episode director) as assistant directors, Toru Yasumoto (Steins;Gate 0 co-scenario supervisor) as series scriptwriter, and Ueta Kazuyuki (Kiniro Mosaic: Thank You!!) as character designer and chief animation director. Passione is handling the animation production. 

Other staff members include Sakie Suzuki (Slave Harem in the Labyrinth of the Other World) as color designer, Kouji Hayashi (Love To-LIE-Angle) as photography director, and Kenichirou Suehiro (Shadows House) as music composer. Kusanagi is credited with the art direction.

The voice cast is headlined by Ryouta Oosaka as Asahi Kashiwagi, Miku Itou as Aoi Izumisawa, Ayana Taketatsu as Amelia Irving, Rie Takahashi as Ilya Ilyukhin, Hisako Kanemoto as Bai Mongfa, Marika Kouno as Karin Istel, and Jun Fukuyama as Yoshio Ijuuin.

Love Flops has also been adapted into a manga series, illustrated by artist Ryuudai Ishizaka and the story credited to Love Flops Project. It is currently serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine and was first published on June 24, 2022. The first tankoubon volume will be released on September 29, 2022. 

HIDIVE describes the anime series as: 

Asahi Kashiwagi lives the typical life of an average high school student — until the day a TV fortune teller’s predictions come true one after another, culminating in a series of risqué encounters! Destiny seemingly draws five beautiful girls into Asahi’s path, and soon he finds himself fielding not one, not two, but five love confessions. Asahi will need to follow his heart to find the perfect love for him, or else his love fortunes may end in one epic flail and flop.
