Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a former 2016 GOP presidential hopeful, abandoned his party on Monday and endorsed Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the 2020 race.

Standing at a literal fork in the road near his Ohio home, the CNN contributor urged listeners to vote for Biden, saying that “I’m sure there are Republicans and independents who couldn’t imagine crossing over to support a Democrat.

“They fear Joe may turn sharp left and leave them behind. I don’t believe that. He’s reasonable, faithful, respectful, and you know, no one pushes Joe around.”

Here are the other prominent Republicans who switched over to the Democratic ticket this cycle:

Carly Fiorina

Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, also ran against Trump in the 2016 Republican primary. During that time, the two sparred after Trump criticized Fiorina’s looks during a 2015 Rolling Stone interview.

“Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president,” he told the magazine.

Fiorina capitalized on the moment and temporarily saw a boost in the polls.

Asked during an interview with The Atlantic in June if she’d vote for the former veep, Fiorina said yes.

“I’ve been very clear that I can’t support Donald Trump. And, you know, elections are binary choices … if faced with a binary choice on a ballot, yes,” she said.

“I am encouraged that Joe Biden is a person of humility and empathy and character. I think he’s demonstrated that through his life.”

Colin Powell

Like Kasich, the former secretary of state under George W. Bush was also featured at the Democratic National Convention this year.

Powell described Biden as having the right set of values to be commander-in-chief during his remarks.

“The values I learned growing up in the South Bronx and serving in uniform were the same values that Joe Biden’s parents instilled in him in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I support Joe Biden for the presidency of the United States because those values still define him, and we need to restore those values to the White House,” he said in the pre-recorded speech.

Powell is not a loud Trump critic by any means, mostly staying mum on the subject through the early years of his administration.

While he voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, he did not disparage then-candidate Trump, saying only that he felt she was the more qualified of the two.

Members of The Lincoln Project

George Conway, Steve Schmidt and Rick Wilson lead the group of “Never Trump” Republicans, which endorsed Biden earlier this year and have been releasing ads aimed at moderates not enthused about voting for the current commander-in-chief.

Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, has become known for engaging in Twitter feuds with his wife’s boss.

Schmidt and Wilson, meanwhile, have moved from Republican consulting to the cable news circuit.
