#Hedy Lamarr: Gal Gadot Series Ordered for Apple TV+

Gal Gadot is coming to the small screen. Apple TV has ordered a new TV show called Hedy Lamarr with the Wonder Woman star.

From Sarah Treem and Warren Littlefield, the drama series “will follow the incredible life-story of the Hollywood glamour girl, played by Gadot, spanning 30 years from Hedy’s daring escape from pre-war Vienna; to her meteoric rise in the Golden Age of Hollywood; to her fall and eventual disgrace at the dawn of the Cold War.”

Apple TV has ordered eight episodes of Hedy Lamarr. Treem and Littlefield will executive produce alongside Gadot, Jaron Varsono, and Katie Robbins. Endeavor Content is the producing studio.

“Hedy Lamarr” to premiere globally on Apple TV , joining star-studded slate of limited series including “Defending Jacob” and the upcoming “Lisey’s Story” and “The Shrink Next Door”

Apple has given a straight-to-series order to “Hedy Lamarr,” a new eight-episode limited series starring and executive produced by Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman” franchise), and written and executive produced by Golden Globe Award winner Sarah Treem (“The Affair,” “House of Cards,” “In Treatment”).

Hailed as “the most beautiful woman in the world,” Hedy Lamarr was first exalted and iconized, then destroyed and eventually forgotten by American audiences, all the while keeping her brilliant mind active through a series of inventions, one of which became the basis for the spread spectrum technology we use today. The series will follow the incredible life story of the Hollywood glamour girl, spanning 30 years from Hedy’s daring escape from prewar Vienna, to her meteoric rise in the Golden Age of Hollywood, to her fall and eventual disgrace at the dawn of the Cold War. An epic tale of an immigrant woman both ahead of her time and very much a victim to it.

The notion for the historical drama originated from Gadot and producing partner Jaron Varsano (“My Dearest Fidel”), who then partnered with Emmy and BAFTA Award winner Warren Littlefield (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Treem, the latter of whom created the series. In addition to Gadot and Treem, “Hedy Lamarr” will be executive produced by Littlefield and Katie Robbins (“The Affair”). Gadot and Varsano will produce through their production company, Pilot Wave. Adam Haggiag (“Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story”) and Alexandra Dean (“Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story”) will serve as co-producers, with Hedy Lamarr’s children Anthony Loder and Denise Deluca consulting on the series.

Endeavor Content serves as the studio on “Hedy Lamarr,” which will join a growing lineup on Apple TV of award-winning and hit originals including limited series “Defending Jacob”; upcoming limited series “Lisey’s Story,” written and executive produced by Stephen King and starring Academy Award winner Julianne Moore; recently announced limited comedy series “The Shrink Next Door,” starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd; Golden Globe-nominated and Critics Choice and SAG award-winning series “The Morning Show”; as well as the soon-to-premiere animated musical comedy series “Central Park” from Emmy Award winner Loren Bouchard, “Frozen” Grammy winner Josh Gad and Emmy winner Nora Smith; “Dear… ,” a new docuseries from Emmy and Peabody Award winner R.J. Cutler; and documentary film “Dads” from director Bryce Dallas Howard.
