Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyu!!, the previous stage play series based on the manga was launched in November 2015, and its final 11th show “Itadaki no Keshiki (A View From the Top) 2″ was held in the spring of 2021. The series performed more than 300 times across Japan and became one of the most successful so-called “2.5-dimensional play” based on Japanese game/anime/manga.

The new Haikyu!! stage play will be directed by Kenta Suga, who played the protagonist Shoyo Hinata in the previous series from 2015 to 2018. He wrote on Twitter, “I will be directing Gekidan Haikyu!!’s debut performance. The power that Haikyu!! has. The power that the play can attract people. I would like to take many steps forward one by one. This is my first time directing. My first year as a director. Whenever I face Haikyu!!, it’s always the starting line. Thank you for your support!”
