#Haigakura Airs October 7, Releases New Character Trailer for Ichiyo & Tenko

A short new character PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Haigakura TV anime series, highlighting the main characters, Ichiyo and Tenko. The trailer also revealed that the anime will broadcast in Japan on October 7, 2024. 

The trailer is also available on YouTube, but is geolocked to only certain countries and territories. 

Junichi Yamamoto (The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion) is directing the anime series, with Yu Murai (The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion co-scriptwriter) as series screenwriter, Masaki Sato (Record of Ragnarok) as character designer, and Yuki Kurihara (Blue Orchestra co-composer) as music composer. Typhoon Graphics is in charge of the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes: 

  • • Takeo Otsuka as Ichiyou
  • • Kaito Ishikawa as Tenkou
  • • Lynn as Hakushurin
  • • Hiro Shimono as Ransaiwa
  • • Satoshi Hino as Sonto

The anime is based on the fantasy manga series by Shinobu Takayama, which ran in Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sum WARD magazine from January 16, 2008 to May 16, 2015. The manga was then transferred to Zero-Sum Online on September 18, 2015, where it has been serialized since. Sixteen tankobon volumes have been released as of August 2023.

Haigakura takes place in a realm called Senkai, where both gods and mortals reside. With the realm on the verge of collapse, a young poet warrior named Ichiyo is tasked with capturing the gods, who have spread out all over the realm, by using a technique called Kessai. Together with his subordinate god Tenko, Ichiyo goes on a quest to search for the four evil gods, who hold the key to the realm’s collapse.
