The official website for the upcoming original anime film Goodbye, Don Glees! revealed a collaboration promotional video featuring the four main characters of the A Place Further Than the Universe anime series. The characters talk over the trailer to discuss the film’s plot and plans on seeing it together. A collaboration visual was also revealed. The film is set to premiere sometime in 2022.
The film’s cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Rōma Kamogawa, Yūki Kaji as Hokuto “Toto” Mitarai, and Ayumu Murase as Shizuku “Drop” Sakuma.
The staff includes Ayano Okamoto as art director, Harue Ono (Cardcaptor Sakura The Movie 2: The Sealed Card) as color key artist, Yūki Kawashita (Death Parade) as director of photography, Shigenori Hirozumi (Attack on Titan) and Kana Imagaki (Hetalia The Beautiful World ) as 3D directors, Kashiko Kimura (No Game, No Life) as editor, Yoshiaki Fujisawa (A Place Further Than the Universe) as music composer, Jin Aketagawa (86 EIGHTY-SIX) as sound director, and Tsutomu Ueno (Cells at Work!) as sound effects cordinator. Eiko Tsunadō (Given film) and Akihiro Hirasawa (Josee, The Tiger and the Fish) are credited for the art setting, and Saho Yamane (Woodpecker Detective’s Office) collaborated on the art board production. The animation production will be from Madhouse. Kadokawa is distributing the film.
Other staff members include Atsuko Ishizuka (A Place Further Than the Universe) as director and scriptwriter and Takahiro Yoshimatsu (A Place Further Than the Universe, Hunter × Hunter) as character designer.
Goodbye, Don Glees! marks Ishizuka’s first original film project. The story centers on a boy who arrives in Iceland at the end of an adventure that began during summer vacation.
