The death of a good Samaritan who was fatally crushed by a Harlem train as he tried to break up a fight last week has been ruled a homicide, the NYPD said Wednesday morning.
Dwayne Brown, 57, was attacked by an unidentified man around 3:30 p.m. Friday as he intervened in a brawl at the southbound 2/3 subway stop at West 125th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard, police sources said at the time.
As he was being punched, Brown fell between an incoming train and the southbound platform, according to the sources.
His head, left leg and arm wound up wedged in between the train and platform and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
No one had been arrested in connection to the incident by Wednesday morning.
