#Gong Yoo And Bae Doona Survive An Abandoned Lunar Base In New Netflix Thriller

It’s never a good thing when you have to send another, smaller team to check up on your secretive research team that’s gone radio silent for a while. Can’t be good when the astrobiologist looks out the porthole of your station and gasps with horror. It’s especially never good as a military superior going in with little information, as the team leader is about to find out. But with a team of talent as heavy as Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, and Heo Sung-tae, it’ll be a thrill to see what they uncover, and to see how deep that silent sea really goes.

The eight-episode series stars Gong Yoo, who previously tugged at heartstrings in “Train to Busan.” Yoo reunites with his “Squid Game” costar Heo Sung-tae, who plays chief of Resource Group of Aviation Administration Kim Jae-sun. Heo Sung-tae joins the starring cast along with former MBLAQ performer Lee Joon as the mission’s captain, and Bae Doona, whose performances stood out in both Bong Joon-ho’s “The Host” and the aforementioned “Kingdom” series.

“The Silent Sea” arrives on Netflix on December 24, 2021.
