#Get Ready, the Steam Deck’s Launch Day Will Be Hectic – Review Geek

“#Get Ready, the Steam Deck’s Launch Day Will Be Hectic – Review Geek”

Rejoice, ye gamers who prefer handheld consoles! Valve’s Steam Deck will officially start selling on February 25. However, the Steam Deck’s release day promises to be just as chaotic and challenging as any of the games you’ll ever play on it, so buckle up.
For some reason, Valve is making the process a little more complicated than it probably needs to be. The company released a blog post stating,” On February 25th, we will be sending out the first batch of order emails to reservation holders. Customers will have 3 days (72 hours) from receipt of their order email to make their purchase, before their reservation is released to the next person in the queue.”
So if you were lucky enough to have successfully placed a reservation, you’ll get an email that morning sometime after 10:00am PST. From there, you’ll have the aforementioned three days to officially place your order. If you’re serious about ordering a Steam Deck, you’ll want to keep a watchful eye on your inbox.

The company also said that it will release new batches of the consoles in weekly waves, which will hopefully help get more of them into the hands of actual gamers instead of scalpers. Valve says the first orders to be placed should start shipping just a few days later, on February 28.
It’s exciting to see the console hit this milestone after it was first announced back in July 2021. Originally, the Steam Deck was going to begin shipping in December 2021, but it was faced with months-long delays due to supply chain shortages.
If you didn’t place a reservation for the Steam Deck back in July, you still can do so for just $5 on the product’s website. There are three storage capacity options to choose from—64 GB (eMMC), 256GB (NVMe SSD), and 512GB (NVMe SSD). However, just be aware that all new reservations are likely to face lengthier delays, as Valve’s website now states that the expected order availability for them will be “after Q2 2022.”
