It’ll help you make the perfect cookies or bread.

KitchenAid mixers have a cultish following, and for a good reason, but the all-new GE Profile Smart Mixer with voice commands and a built-in scale could give it some competition. And considering it’s available exclusively at Crate & Barrel for $1,000, it better help me make the best cookies ever.

GE says this new stand mixer will take the guesswork out of making bread, desserts, sauces, and more. That’s because there’s a built-in scale for the perfect measurements, and it even has a texture sensor that’ll ensure you don’t overmix your dough.

While you’re busy in the kitchen whipping up a delicious meal, you can set the GE smart mixer to a specific setting and forget it. The sensors will do all the work, stop mixing at the perfect texture, and shut off for you. And if you think it needs a bit more mixing but your hands are dirty or covered in flour, use the voice controls to get it back up and running hands-free.

Combined with a SmartHQ app, the stand mixer knows the perfect viscosity for specific ingredients, even if you don’t. Plus, if you’re following a recipe from the app, the mixer follows along with you and will set the smart scale automatically for each ingredient.

Basically, this could help you be a better baker even if you’re not the best at following the recipe. And as my mom always said, “follow the darn recipe.”

According to GE, this is the first smart mixer with a brushless DC motor system, meaning it can handle the toughest doughs, thick and goopy batters, and won’t overheat or stall out during the job. And considering it’s a “smart mixer,” it’ll get over-the-air software updates with more recipes and other changes to get better over time.

If you don’t already own a KitchenAid and have deep pockets full of dough, pre-order one today from the link below.
