It’s finally here: ProSieben MAXX is broadcasting episode 1000 of “One Piece” in German today!

Since 1999, the successful anime adaptation of «One Piece» broadcast in Japan and currently knows no end. The German dubbing of the series, which is popular with us, only began in 2003 in the anime program of the channel RTL 2. The sister station Tele 5 took over the broadcast for one season until 2010, but with episode 400 the dubbing ended.

Four years later, the new free TV broadcaster ProSieben MAXX tried the new “One Piece”, which turned out to be a success. In the meantime, the broadcaster has shown more new “One Piece” episodes than RTL 2 and Tele 5 together. And today the promised milestone will be broadcast.

Today at around 6:25 p.m. ProSieben MAXX will broadcast episode 1000 of “One Piece” in German for the first time! After almost 20 years on German-speaking television and only about 14 months after Japanese broadcast (current status in Japan: 1049 episodes). For the anniversary episode, a new edition of the very first opening was produced in Japan. It is not known how this will be implemented in the German broadcast. If you miss the episode today, you can stream it for a short time in the broadcaster’s media library and on JOYN.

A release of the anime up to the 1000th episode was confirmed over a year ago by KAZÉ (now Crunchyroll). The 31st box (DVD/Blu-ray) with episodes 903 to 951 was released in December 2022 and the next box will be released on February 23, 2023.

Starting tomorrow, ProSieben MAXX will continue with “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” instead of the adventures of the straw hat gang. However, the broadcaster has already confirmed other new episodes of the pirate saga for this year! So it will soon continue with the Wano Kuni Arc in German.
