#Georgia restaurant owner killed in tornado on way to work

A Georgia restaurant owner was killed on his way to work when a tornado ripped through the area Monday morning, a report said.

The man was inside his car at about 10:35 a.m. when it was struck by a tree and power lines in the Atlanta suburb of Douglasville, WSB-TV reported.

Friends identified the victim to the news station as Scot Hudson, 60, the longtime owner of Hudson’s Hickory House.

“He was a kind human being, and just nice,” friend Carolyn Brock told the outlet. “Just always friendly. You couldn’t ask for a better friend.”

Hudson died shortly after the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area, the report said.

Later Monday, weather officials confirmed an EF-1 tornado packing winds of 90 mph touched down.

Forecasters are predicting another round of severe weather could hit the area Tuesday.
