Josee (Josee, The Tiger and the Fish) won by a landslide in the recent Boy and Girl of the Year Qualifying Polls for Anime Films. She got 57.10% of the votes, leading by a margin of 28.88% over the second placer, Tsuneo, who is her co-cast and lover. She is now just one round away from qualifying as Girl of the Year in the 8th Anime Trending Awards
Joining the couple are Cherry and Smile from Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, and Kana Kishimoto, who is also from Josee, The Tiger and the Fish. Full results of the polls are shown below. Voters were asked to pick a maximum of five characters.

The Top 5 Anime Film Characters will move on to the Final Qualifying Polls for Boy and Girl of the Year where they are set to compete with the characters ranked #6 to #15 in Anime Trending’s Seasonal Character Polls, and the characters that are part of the Non-Simulcast Anime Character Polls which were held simultaneously with the Anime Film Character Polls from November 15 to December 15. Whoever wins that final round will be ultimately nominated for the Boy and Girl of the Year Title in the upcoming 8th Anime Trending Awards.

Tsuneo and Josee also topped the Couple-Ship of the Year Qualifying Polls for Anime Films. With the win, they secured a spot in the final set of nominees for Couple-Ship of the Year, where they are set to compete with the Top 3 Couple-Ships from the regular seasonal polls held by Anime Trending. Cherry and Smile (Words Bubble up Like Soda Pop), Rio Yamamoto and Yuna Ichihara (Love Me, Love Me Not) also join as nominees for Couple-Ship of the Year in the upcoming 8th Anime Trending Awards.
