No doubt, Genshin Impact is a great game with awesome characters, engaging storylines, and basically everything that fans look for in a game. Coming back to the point, we have some interesting new information for the fans.

The Rumor

A rumor has it that Ganyu, a popular character, might be coming back to Genshin Impact. The rumor finds its roots in a tweet by a reliable leaker Ubatcha. According to UBatcha, a past character will be getting a rerun in Version 2.2, alongside the introduction of a new character.

“As Inazuma takes a Bow, there should be a pretty Chill re-run coming in 2.2 and along with that, there’s at least one new character. I’ll be sharing more as and when I can. Keep in mind this is all subject to change,” Ubatcha tweeted.

Upon hearing this, the rumors about the return of Ganyu escalated. She was the first character that came to fans’ minds because she has been subject to many rumors in the past month. In the comments, section fans could be seen speculating the returning character to be Albedo, Childe, Xiao, etc.

But Ganyu makes the most sense, as a fan pointed out. Most people agreed to this, as she is very close to the description and deserves a rerun. Ganyu is a playable Cryo character in Genshin Impact, who serves as an emissary and secretary for the Liyue Qixing. She first appeared in Teyvat Chapter Storyline “Chapter 1, Act 2: Farewell, the Archaic Lord.”

She is a five-star bow user, who can be obtained in Event Wish – Adrift in the Harbor. Ganyu is defined as being very quiet and reserved due to her half-qilin heritage. This matches with the “chill” attitude of the returning character that Ubasha mentioned.
But again, they are just rumors and you should be taking them with a grain of salt. You might get hyped by reading this, but we advise you to not believe them or rely on them. Let us wait for the 2.1 update first and we might start getting some official information about the 2.2 update.
