Genshin Impact Version 2.1 arrived just a week ago and so far, it has proven to be a great update. It has added a lot of new events and areas but one of the biggest things it brings along is the new fishing system. You might be wondering how to get started with it, what rods and baits and available etc. Well, do not worry as we are here to answer all your questions. Today we are going to talk about the types of fishing rods and how to unlock or get them. As of now, there are 5 known fishing rods in Genshin Impact – Moonstringer, Wilderness rod, Windtangler (Mondstadt), Wishmaker (Liyue), and Narukawa Uzai (Inazuma). Let us talk about where and how you can unlock each of them.
How to Get Moonstringer?
You can unlock the fishing rod from the Lunar Realm event after reaching Adventure Rank 30 or above. You will also have to complete the Archon Quest “Ritou Escape Plan,” unlock the Serenitea Pot System and complete the “Exploding Population” quest eligible for the Lunar Realm Event. Lunar Realm event’s tasks will last up to 7 days and if you successfully finish them, you will obtain a fishing rod Moonstringer. It cannot be obtained yet but you can get it once the Lunar Realm Fishing event begins.
How to Get Wilderness Rod?
To get this rod you will have to unlock The Exploding Population quest which introduces you to the fishing system in Genshin Impact. It is the default rod that players will be provided with when they are introduced to fishing. The rod offers no unique benefit and is pretty basic. You must try to use any of the other rods over this one.
Windtangler
You’ll be able to obtain Windtangler Fishing Rod from the Mondstadt Fishing Association location in the nation of Mondstadt. You can buy it from them in exchange for:

| Venomspine Fish (20x) | Tea-Colored Shirakodai (20x) |
You will receive a special bonus for using Windtangler at a fishing spot. The fish you want to catch will struggle for a shorter duration if you stay within the Ideal Tension Zone.
Wishmaker
You’ll be able to obtain Wishmaker Fishing Rod from the Liyue Fishing Association location in the nation of Liyue. You can buy it from them in exchange for:

You’ll receive a special bonus for using Wishmaker at a fishing spot in the Liyue region just like Windtangler in Mondstadt.
Narukawa Ukai
Narukawa Ukai Fishing Rod can be obtained from the Inazuma Fishing Association location in the nation of Inazuma. You can get it from them in exchange for:

Just like Windtangler and Wishmaker, you will be able to extract a bonus from using this rod in the Inazuma region.
