#Gekka no Shinigami Reveals New Visual, Begins Streaming on December 21
A new key visual has been revealed for the upcoming Duel Masters Lost: Gekka no Shinigami anime, which serves as a sequel to Duel Masters Lost: Tsuioku no Suisho. The sequel anime will begin streaming in Japan on the franchise’s “DuelTube” YouTube channel and other platforms on December 21, 2024.
Tsuioku no Suisho ended today with the fourth episode. No announcement has been made for the anime’s streaming plans outside of Japan. Gekka no Shinigami serves as its sequel and is based on the manga of the same name.
Duel Masters Lost features two Duel Masters Win characters that include Shotaro Uzawa as Win Kirifuda and Wataru Hatano as Abyssbell = Jashin Emperor (Jashin-kun). J.C.STAFF is handling the animation production for both anime.
Riki Fukushima (Tamayomi: The Baseball Girls, Beyblade the Movie: Fierce Battle) directed the Tsuioku no Suisho anime, with Yoichi Kato (Duel Masters) as screenwriter, Chikara Hashizume (Requiem of the Rose King) as character designer, and Seiko Akashi (Cardfight!! Vanguard) as art director.
Other staff include Kyosuke Ishikawa as color designer, Toshitaka Mogi as photography director, and Hiroyuki Tadokoro (Duel Masters King Max) as CG director.
The original Duel Masters Lost manga is illustrated by Yo Kanebayashi, with Duel Masters franchise creator Shigenobu Matsumoto credited as original creator. The manga began serialization on Shogakukan’s Weekly CoroCoro Comic website on February 1, 2024. Kanebayashi and Matsumoto also worked on the Gekka no Shinigami sequel manga.
The Duel Masters Lost series also includes the “Abyss Revolution Gaiden: Death Bell Crystal” card pack for the Duel Masters franchise, which went on sale in Japan on February 17, 2024. The latest anime entry, Duel Masters Win: Duel Wars, premiered in Japan in April 2023.
Duel Masters Lost is described as an “alternate time story” set at the same time as the current Duel Masters Win. It follows 16-year-old Win Kirifuda who has lost everything from his old world and is drawn into a high stakes battle to reclaim what was his.
