#Queens man accused of killing, sexually abusing his 65-year-old mother

A Queens man was charged Sunday with fatally beating and sexually abusing his 65-year-old mother, prosecutors said.

Pushkar Sharma, 28, allegedly carried out the deadly attack on Soraj Sharma at their home in Jamaica at about 8 a.m. the morning before Mother’s Day, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

The suspect is accused of grabbing his mother from behind, choking and punching her until she fell to the ground, prosecutors said.

Once down, the son allegedly continued the attack, strangling and punching his mother before sexually assaulting her, the DA said.

The victim lost consciousness and then died, officials said.

“What should have been a celebration of Mother’s Day became a brutal, tragic nightmare for a Queens family,” Katz said in a statement.

After his alleged killing, the son turned himself into police custody and reportedly confessed.

The suspect is charged with two counts of murder and and sexual abuse.
