#Police bust parolee who broke into Brooklyn grocery store

A 37-year-old parolee was busted by police after he allegedly broke into a Park Slope grocery store early Wednesday morning, sources said.

Mohamed Shoman is accused of trying to steal over $4,000 worth of property from Union Market on 7th Avenue, according to sources.

Police responded to the location at about 2 a.m. when a store alarm was activated — and at first, they could not find an intruder, sources said.

But while checking security footage, officers saw Shoman hiding out in a crawl space, according to sources.

When police confronted the suspect, he was armed with what appeared to be a gun, but ended up being an imitation firearm, sources said.

“I am not going back to jail, you have to shoot me,” Shoman told police, according to sources.

But officers managed to talk Shoman into dropping the imitation gun and they arrested him.

Shoman, who is on parole until January 2024, is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, grand larceny, criminal possession of burglar tools, and criminal possession of stolen property, sources said.
