A Florida man who was “in the vicinity” of Sen. Rand Paul after the Republican National Convention has been charged with assault for allegedly attacking a DC police officer, according to a report.

Brennen Sermon, 27, of Orlando was arraigned in DC Superior Court on one count of assault on a law-enforcement officer, according to Fox 5 DC.

The cop was holding a police line at 14th and F Street NW about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 28 when the suspect allegedly kicked his bicycle and fled.

When the officer caught up with Sermon, he allegedly punched him in the face, requiring stitches, according to the report.

The Republican senator from Kentucky said he feared for his life when a mob of Black Lives Matter protesters surrounded him in the nation’s capital after President Trump’s convention speech.

The protesters could be heard shouting, “No Justice, No Peace” and “Say Her Name,” referring to Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old emergency medical tech who was shot in March when cops burst into her Louisville apartment using a no-knock warrant during a narcotics probe.

They were apparently ignorant to the fact their target was the very lawmaker who was responsible for introducing the “Justice for Breonna Taylor Act” in June, prohibiting the no-knock warrant use in her killing.
