One firefighter was injured at the blaze, but no civilians were hurt, the FDNY said.
The blaze began at 1330 74th Street, near 13th Avenue, just before midnight on Saturday before spreading, according to the FDNY.
Towering flames billowed from the top floor of the two-and-a-half-story home where the fire started, blackening the roof and sending dark clouds of smoke over the street.
The FDNY sent 198 personnel to the scene.
Local Councilman Justin Brannan said strong winds fanned the fire, spreading damage to a second and third home.
“FDNY reports 3 houses have been impacted,” Brannan tweeted.
“There are still no reports of injuries. The Buildings Department has been notified. ConEd and National Grid have been called to respond.”
The fire was still raging by 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Its cause was not immediately clear.
The fire erupted hours after and just blocks away from an unrelated fatal shooting in the area.
