“He didn’t like the way the mom looked at him,” a police source said. “That’s why he did that to the kid.”
Vondell Cox, 20, was arrested for the Monday incident and charged with assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said Cox has a history of psychological problems, but didn’t provide details.
The girl was with her mother around noon at Edison Street and Bryant Avenue when Cox shoved pushed her to the ground, causing minor cuts to her knees.
He then fled in an unknown direction. The child didn’t require medical attention, cops said.
