Isekai Yakkyoku has revealed more cast members ahead of its upcoming television anime adaptation. The show is expected to premiere sometime later this year. 

Reina Ueda will be voicing the character Eleonor Bonnefoi while Kaede Hondo will voice Charlotte Solier. It was previously revealed in a trailer released in March that Aki Toyosaki will headline the anime as the voice of lead protagonist, Pharma. 

News of the adaptation was first confirmed and commemorated last July with the release of special illustrations from the series’ creators. 

The production staff of Isekai Yakkyoku consists of Keizou Kusakawa (Ahiru no Sora chief director) as director with Wataru Watari (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU author) as series screenwriter. Mayuko Matsumoto (Ahiru no Sora co-key animator) is the anime’s character designer while Diomedéa serves as the animation production company.

The anime series is based on the light novels of the same name. It was first published on Shousetsuka ni Narou in July 2015, before being picked up for formal publication in January 2016 by Kadokawa’s MF Books imprint. The series is written by Liz Takayama and illustrated by artist keepout. Eight print volumes have been released so far, along with a separate manga adaptation illustrated by Sei Takano.

The story centers around a young pharmacologist who was so focused on his research that he died from overwork. He was transported to an alternate world and reincarnated as Pharma, the scion in a noble lineage of court healers. In this world where erroneous remedies and cures are rampant, he takes on all kinds of ailments to save lives, thanks to his inside knowledge of modern pharmacology from his past life.
