#Ghost in the Shell: SAC Director Kenji Kamiyama Works on New Anime Feature for WOWOW

At its regular press conference for November 2020 held yesterday, a Japanese premium satellite television station WOWOW announced that the internationally acclaimed director Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of The East) is now working on an original anime feature. It will be aired on the station as its 30th-anniversary program in 2022.

The screenplay for the feature is currently being written, so the title is still unannounced, but it will be a coming-of-age social crime-adventure story. A Tokyo-based 3DCG animation studio CRAFTER, which produced the 2019 film Ashita Sekai ga Owaru to Shitemo / The Relative Worlds, will work on anime production.

Message from Kenji Kamiyama:

"The year 2020 has brought about major changes to the ideas I have warmed up for years, the landscapes I have encountered along the way, and the lives of people. Based on all of those experiences, I'm currently writing screenplay, keeping an open mind for new ideas that will be emerging. We will enter a full-scale production period soon. I' will develop my ideas further, sharing my thoughts with my trusted staff. Thanks to a good connection, this anime will be presented as WOWOW's 30th-anniversary program. I can't tell you its details yet, but you can look forward to seeing what the story will be about."
