#Fantasy Manga The Girl from the Other Side Gets Feature-Length Anime

Fantasy manga The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún is getting a new feature-length OAV, which will be bundled with a special volume of the manga. The volume will be released on March 10, 2022. 

The anime will be crowdfunded via a Kickstarter campaign, which will run from March 10 to May 9. 

Yutaro Kubo and Satomi Maiya, who previously worked on a 2019 short anime film adaptation of The Girl from the Other Side, will serve as directors, scriptwriters, and character designers for the new OAV. 

Other staff include Yuusuke Takeda (GREAT PRETENDER) as art director, Takeru Yokoi (Magical Girl Ore) as photography director, and Shouji Hata (GREAT PRETENDER) as sound director. Club jazz trio Schroeder-Headz, who worked on the The Girl from the Other Side short film, is returning to compose the music. WIT STUDIO is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Jun Fukuyama as Sensei/Teacher and Rie Takahashi as Shiva. 

The Girl from the Other Side manga is written and drawn by Nagabe. The first volume was published in March 2016, while the tenth and latest volume was published in October 2020.

Kinokuniya describes the story as:

In a world split between the Inside and the Outside, those living in both realms are told never to cross over to the other side. A young girl named Shiva lives on the other side, in a vacant village with a demonic guardian known only as “Teacher.” Although the two are forbidden to touch, they seem to share a bond that transcends their appearances.
