Famitsu Sales: 4/26/21 – 5/2/21

Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the two weeks spanning April 26, 2021 to May 9, 2021.

New Pokemon Snap, which launched for Switch on April 30, was the highest selling new release of combined period, moving a total of 194,385 retail copies in 10 days.

Resident Evil Village, which launched on May 8, followed at 149,884 retail sales in two days—111,171 copies on PlayStation 4 and 38,713 copies on PlayStation 5.

Returnal, which launched for PlayStation 5 on April 30, did not chart in the top 10, meaning it opened at somewhere less than 29,549 copies.

On the hardware side, the Switch family sold 236,028 units, the PlayStation 5 family sold 53,640 units, the PlayStation 4 family sold 2,584 units, and the Xbox Series family sold 1,207 units. Next-generation consoles continue to face stock issues.
