#Family Life is Illusory in BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ Anime Film Clip

Bem enjoys a liesurely breakfast with his human family in a scene from the upcoming BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ theatrical anime film.

Even humanoid monsters want a happy family life complete with a house with a white picket fence in the suburbs, or at least that's the set-up for a special promotional clip from the upcoming BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ theatrical anime film, a movie which continues the story of the 2019 BEM TV anime, which itself was a reboot of the 1968 – 1969 Yokai Ningen BEM ("Humanoid Monster BEM") TV anime.

The 2019 BEM TV anime is distributed in the United States by Funimation, who describe the story of the series as follows:

Libra City is a sprawling metropolis whose districts split the rich and the poor. Hiding among the populace are three humanoid monsters—Bem, Bela, and Belo—who protect humanity and hope to one day become humans themselves. However, when a Mysterious Lady threatens their way of life, Bem, Bela, and Belo are pulled into a plot unlike anything they’ve ever known.

BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ takes place 2 years after the events of the TV series and follows Sonia as she continues to try to track down the "humanoid monsters". Her search takes her to a drug company called Draco Chemical, where she meets a man named Belum Eyesburg who looks exactly like Bem. Meanwhile, Belo continues fighting on his own in an effort to let Bela live as an ordinary human girl. After encountering Sonia, Belum begins having nightmares that make him question his own identity, and his peaceful, ordinary life with his wife and family begins to collapse…

A new key visual for the upcoming BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ theatrical anime film, featuring the main characters posing dramatically in front of a blood-red city-scape at night.

BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ is directed by Hiroshi Ikehata and features animation production by Production I.G. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in Japan beginning on October 02, 2020.
