CHERRY AND VIRGIN

The first visuals and teaser trailer for the newly announced experimental anime film CHERRY AND VIRGIN were released today alongside the reveal of the film and its lead staff and cast. The original anime film follows the 32-year-old erotic manga artist Ryo and 28-year-old BL-lover Ami as they work past their helplessness with the opposite sex and fall in love.

CHERRY AND VIRGIN will be directed by Masanao Kawajiri, who will be making his feature-length film debut after winning multiple awards for his short anime film A Japanese Boy Who Draws (which can be watched on YouTube).

As seen in the above teaser trailer, Kawajiri will be using the rotoscoping technique to animate the film, filming the actors, and then drawing over the live-action film. Takashi Okado will be playing and voicing Ryo while Yaeko Kiyose does the same with the character of Ami.

An imageboard for the film was also released, showcasing the different styles the film will be conveying.
