#Eureka Gets New Trailer, Previews Character and Mecha Designs

The upcoming Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution 3: Eureka movie has received a new trailer, as well as design previews of some of its characters and mecha. It is set to premiere in Japan on November 26.

The previewed characters are Eureka, Iris McKenzie, Anemone Fūka Ishī, Holland Novak, Talho Novak, Charles Beams, and Ray Beams. Meanwhile, the previewed mecha are the Nirvash Z and Laplace.

Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution 3: Eureka takes place 10 years after the events of the Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution trilogy’s second film, Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution 2: Anemone. After the destruction of Eureka’s Scub Coral and its virtual world, its virtual inhabitants have assumed corporeal form on Earth and call themselves “Green Earth,” while the regular humans call themselves “Blue Earth.” Eureka, who is detested for being the cause of the Scub Coral incident, has become a normal human and is now a high-ranking combatant in the independent United Nations military unit, A.C.I.D..

In this new climate, the high-ranking Green Earth official Dewey Novak and his allies begin to carry out a large-scale terrorist attack. Eureka, who seeks to protect the world as atonement, is assigned to watch over a girl called Iris, who is a new “EUREKA” that can control the Scub Corals.

The staff of Hi-Evolution 3: Eureka includes Tomoki Kyōda (Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution chief director, Hi-Evolution 2: Anemone director) as director, Yūichi Nomura (Aikatsu Planet!) and Kyōda as scriptwriters, Ken’ichi Yoshida (Eureka Seven and Hi-Evolution character designer) as the original character designer, and Masashi Okumura (Gundam Reconguista in G design cooperation) as character designer and animation director.

Other staff include Shōji Kawamori (Hi-Evolution 2: Anemone) as main mechanical designer, Kazuo Nagai (Hi-Evolution 2: Anemone, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising) and Yūshi Honjō (Hi-Evolution 2: Anemone, Ride Your Wave assistant art director) as art directors, Nobuko Mizuta (Hi-Evolution 2: Anemone, Gundam Reconguista in G Movie 1: Go! Core Fighter) as color designer, Toshiya Kimura (Hi-Evolution 2: Anemone, Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as photography director, and Naoki Satō as music composer. BONES is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Kaori Nazuka as Eureka, Rina Endō as Iris McKenzie, Ami Koshimizu as Anemone Fūka Ishī, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Holland Novak, Michiko Neya as Talho Novak, Jūrōta Kosugi as Charles Beams, and Aya Hisakawa as Ray Beams.

Hi-Evolution 3: Eureka was originally meant to premiere in early Summer but was delayed to Fall due to COVID-19-related reasons. The first two Hi-Evolution movies premiered in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

The movie trilogy is inspired by the 2005 Eureka Seven mecha series, which received a sequel series titled Eureka Seven: AO in 2012. The first two Hi-Evolution films differed from the original series to varying degrees.
