You have to pick the correct margin for each game among the following options: 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-14, 15-21, 22-plus

Week 17 will feature teams thankfully playing their final game of this COVID-cautious campaign. Other teams jockeying for playoff seeding while hopefully testing negative next week. And oh yes, the division winner in the NFC Least.

Dolphins at Bills (-1.5)

Well who is it going to be Brian Flores, Tua or Fitz? When Tua Tagovailoa couldn’t move the ball in a must-win with the Raiders, Flores called on Ryan Fitzpatrick to save the season. He did. While the Fish need the game, the Bills have rolled to a division title, unseating Bill Belichick and the Patriots. Josh Allen and company are widely considered by NFL experts to have the best chance of denying the Chiefs another Super Bowl appearance. Unsure if Buffalo will go full-tilt, combined with the fact that Miami has allowed the league’s fewest points we believe the Dolphins will emerge…no matter who is under center.

The pick: Dolphins by 1-3

Steelers at Browns (-10)

At ease Steelers. Word out of the Steel City is that Big Ben Roethlisberger, as well as some selected starters on both sides of the ball, will sit this one out. Pittsburgh snapped their worrisome losing skid, beating a quality opponent in the Colts. The Brownies lost their receiving corps due to COVID, and lost to the J-E-T-S who in turn lost their chance at Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence. A lose, lose, lose but Baker Mayfield will get some weapons back this week and may see a Steeler “D” operating at half speed in a game Cleveland has to have. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin isn’t likely to roll over, and remember these are the Browns. They have historically come up short in these situations. Not today.

The pick: Browns by 7-9.

Vikings (-6.5) at Lions

Not sure who sits here. Question is who really wants to play? These two teams will be heading home after this inconsequential affair. Disappointing seasons for both. Lions showed a little pride after head coach Matt Patricia was canned but when quarterback Matt Stafford limped off the field last week the Cats were eaten alive by Tom Brady and the Bucs 47-7 and it wasn’t that close. They don’t tackle, haven’t all year, and the Vikings should finish their season on a Minny high note, possibly saving Coach Mike Zimmer’s job, especially if Stafford opts out.

The pick: Vikings by 1-3

Cowboys (-3) at Giants

Help me out here. Who pops the champagne Sunday night? The champions of the NFC Least, or the three teams that are going home? The Washington Football Team controls their destiny in a division destined to go down as one of the weakest in NFL history. If they clip the Eagles Sunday night in Philly it’s over. If they leave the door ajar the Giants can take the division at 6-10, or Jerry Jones’ Cowboys can win the title with backup QB Andy Dalton at the wheel. Can Daniel Jones rise to the challenge and out-pitch Dalton? Can OC Jason Garrett unlock Jones’ potential in time to eliminate his former team? Mo is on Dallas’ sideline. We are taking the Maramen. Happy New Year Joe Judge!

The pick: Giants by 1-3

Falcons at Buccaneers (-6)

Atlanta, last in the NFC South, may be better than every team in the NFC East. The Falcons are 4-11 but have scored 369 points, allowing 370 in a season replete with narrow gut-wrenching defeats. Tampa Bay on the other hand devoured the Lions to secure a playoff berth but they can’t catch the Saints. New Orleans locked up the South last week. Bettors beware. We can’t be sure if Brady’s Bunch will play four quarters, leaving an opportunity for the pesky Falcons to fly in late and sneak in another backdoor cover behind a hot Matt Ryan.

The pick: Buccaneers by 1-3

Packers (-4.5) at Bears

Tough leaving Lambeau Field with a W. The road to the Super Bowl will have to go through Green Bay if the 12-3 Packers can clinch home-field advantage with a victory against the rival Bears in Chicago. Aaron Rodgers, co-favorite to win NFL MVP honors along with KC’s Patrick Mahomes, put up 41 points against the Bears overmatched “D” in week 12. Enough incentive for an encore but the Bears are still in the playoff hunt. If QB Mitchell Trubisky can pull this off, the city of Chicago may be able to get over the loss of Yu Darvish.

The pick: Packers by 7-9
