#Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway Film Releases 2nd Trailer Featuring Theme Song by Alexandros

Along with two new main visuals featuring the characters and mobile suit, the official website for the trilogy anime film project Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway has started streaming a 60-second second trailer introducing its theme song “Senkou” (Flash) performed by the three-member Japanese rock band ［Alexandros］. The song will be released as the band’s 19th single on May 5, 2021. 

In addition to depicting the battles of Ξ Gundam and Penelope, Quess Paraya from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack makes an appearance. Also, you can listen to a line by Amuro Ray, who does not appear in the original story, at the end, saying “Death never comes when you’re defensive.”

The trilogy is based on Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Mobile Suit Gundam: Senkou no Hathaway / Hathaway’s Flash novel published for three volumes from Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko from 1989 to 1990. According to Sunrise producer Naohiro Ogata, while the novel was written as a sequel to Tomino’s 1988 novel Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika Children (based on his rejected first draft for the 1988 film Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack), the upcoming anime will be produced as a sequel to the Char’s Counterattack anime film.

The first part of the trilogy was originally slated for July 23, 2020, but has been postponed to May 7, 2021, due to the impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Dolby Cinema version of Char’s Counterattack will be screened in Japanese theaters from April 2, 2021, and it was also announced that the first 15 minutes and 53 seconds of Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway will be screened with it for the first time.
