An elderly man riding on a No. 2 subway in Manhattan was attacked by two strangers who left him with facial fractures and bleeding on the brain, police and police sources said Monday.

The 67-year-old told cops the duo approached him around 7:30 p.m. Sunday while he was on the southbound train around West 135th Street and Lenox Avenue — and that both men punched him repeatedly, police said.

“While he was on the train, two strangers started to punch him with a closed fist throughout the face and head for no known reason,” a police spokeswoman said.

The two men ran off on West 135th Street. The victim stayed on the train until he reached 72nd Street and was taken by ambulance to Mount Sinai Morningside, cops said.

He was treated for facial fractures and bleeding on his brain, the sources said. The two men are wanted for felonious assault.
