#Elderly man in wheelchair struck by car on Upper East Side

A driver plowed into a 94-year-old man in a wheelchair on the Upper East Side Tuesday afternoon, leaving the elderly victim in critical but stable condition, police said.

The victim was crossing 5th Avenue west to east in a motorized wheelchair around 3 p.m. when the 32-year-old driver, who was heading south on 5th Avenue in a Toyota Camry, hit him, cops said.

It was not immediately clear who had the right of way, cops said.

The unidentified victim suffered cuts to the head and is being treated at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, according to authorities.

The driver, who was also not identified, stayed on the scene, and is not being charged with a crime, cops said.
