Sony Pictures Television Games and Funimation launched the My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero game in North America, Latin America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Scandinavian countries. The game, based on the My Hero Academia franchise, is available on iOS and Android devices. It is free-to-play with in-app purchases.

The game, which utilises an open world action RPG, allows players to build their own team rosters with Class 1-A students, pro heroes, and villains. These teams can be used in story mode, PVP, and co-op mode. New content will be launched every month.

Funimation describes the game as:

Based on the wildly popular anime series My Hero Academia on Funimation, My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero allows fans to play their favorite characters from Class 1-A, including Midoriya, Bakugo, and Todoroki, pro heroes like All Might and Endeavor, and even villains like Stain. Players can build their own team roster in story mode and take on classic villains like Shigaraki and Nomu. My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero lets players challenge each other in PVP or take on the Allied Assault in co-op mode. New content will be released every month, adding more of the players’ favorite heroes and villains.

The My Hero Academia anime series began in 2016, with its fifth season premiering in March 2021. The franchise currently has three anime movies, titled Two Heroes (2018), Heroes Rising (2019), and the upcoming World Heroes Mission. Both the movies and the series are produced by Bones. Meanwhile, the manga by Kōhei Horikoshi has been serialized since 2014 and has 30 tankōbon volumes as of April 2021.
