Sia has filed a lawsuit against an alleged identity thief she claims is pretending to be her in order to gain access to her unreleased material, Rolling Stone reports.

The unidentified defendant is believed to be living in Calfornia and has been contacting people in the music industry pretending to be Sia. Per the lawsuit, they have been asking these people to send them music that is yet to be released by the “Chandelier” singer.

The lawsuit explains that the “defendant has emailed a number of persons in the music industry with whom the plaintiff is acquainted, including California residents, identifying him or herself as plaintiff, using an email address containing plaintiff’s name and fraudulently asking the acquaintances to send the person recordings of plaintiff performing that are not publicly available.”

Sia is seeking damages plus legal fees for the email scam, identity theft, and invasion of privacy. It is hoped that a judge will grant her access to identify the defendant through his or her email provider.

In 2017 Sia got ahead of a different scammer when she leaked a naked paparazzi picture of herself after learning that someone was trying to sell the image to her fans.
