#Two men mug autistic teen in caught-on-video NYC attack

Two brutes mugged an autistic teen in a disturbing caught-on-video attack in Lower Manhattan last week, cops said Saturday.

The 14-year-old victim was in front of the New York City Rescue Mission on Lafayette Street at around 11:30 a.m. when one of the assailants held him against a scaffolding pole while the other robbed him, according to authorities.

The callous pair struck the teen in the face repeatedly, police said.

Despite the victim’s cries and screams for help, no bystanders came to his aid, cops said.

The attackers swiped the victim’s jacket and his shoulder bag, which held his wallet, $4 in cash and his cell phone, police said.

The teen was taken to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital with minor injuries.

Both suspects took off — but cops busted one of them, Charles Destefano, 35, on a robbery charge more than two hours later.

Destefano is likely homeless, according to cops — who gave the mission address as his residence.

The other attacker, a bearded man who wore a black hooded coat, a pink sweater, black pants and multi-colored sneakers, remains at large.
