Jump Fest 2022 announced Dr. STONE Season 3 will premiere in 2023. A TV special featuring Ryusui Nanami, voiced by Ryouta Suzuki, was announced for Summer 2022. A new trailer and key visual was also revealed.

Shinya Iino (Revue Starlight, Made in Abyss) returned to direct Dr. STONE with Yuichiro Kido (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga, 91 Days) in charge of series composition. Tatsuya Kato (WorldEnd, Revue Starlight), Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Children of the Whales, Anima Yell!), and Yuki Kanesaka (Blood Blockade Battlefront) served as music composers, and Yuko Iwasa (Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, Yowamushi Pedal) served as character designer. The animation production was from TMS Entertainment.

The anime’s second season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, premiered on January 14. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
