Dr. Anthony Fauci is now a real smooth talker.

Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, returned to his usual media blitz for the first time since undergoing vocal cord surgery last month — but his signature, gravelly voice was missing in action.

The 79-year-old shocked viewers with his new, polished sound Tuesday in an appearance on “Good Morning America.”

“I almost thought that I was listening to someone else talk,” wrote one user on Twitter.

Another Twitter user added, “Fauci’s voice sounds so much clearer than before.”

Fauci suggested Wednesday that maybe he should’ve taken more time for rest after his Aug. 20 procedure to remove a polyp on his vocal cord.

“I had to get involved in a lot of animated conversation and then I kicked myself after that because it didn’t feel 100% great as it did five days after the surgery so now I’m pulling back,” Fauci said on the “Today Show.”

He added, “I do have to train myself to speak differently because the way I do speak, I speak in a very forceful way.”
