Mai Vlad Transylvania grows excited at the prospect of sucking blood and sprouts fangs and a tiny pair of bat wings from her head in a scene from the VLAD LOVE TV anime.

Some quick news for all you creatures of the night to sink you teeth into: VLAD LOVE, an original romantic comedy “girl meets vampire girl” anime that was first distributed online in Japan in February and March of 2021, will be receiving a terrestrial broadcast on Japanese TV beginning in July of 2021. The series will broadcast on TOKYO MX, Chiba TV, Sun TV, and BS Fuji.

VLAD LOVE is directed by Mamoru Oshii and Junji Nishimura and features animation production by Drive. The series is also available via streaming on Crunchyroll, who describe the story of VLAD LOVE as follows:

Mitsugu Bamba is a high school girl who is crazy about donating her blood, to the point that she feels compelled to visit a local blood bank despite the unfriendly nurse. One day, Mitsugu encounters a beautiful girl there who looks like she has come from overseas. The girl is so pale that she appears ready to faint. Instead, she suddenly starts trashing the blood bank. The girl then loses consciousness and so Mitsugu takes her home…
