#Eric Trump to cooperate with NY AG’s probe after election

Eric Trump will cooperate with New York state Attorney General Letitia James’ probe into possible financial misdeeds by the Trump Organization — but not until after the election, his lawyers said in a new court filing.

“Counsel for Mr. Trump has made clear that he is willing to appear pursuant to the subpoena, and have also proposed four available dates after the presidential election,” wrote lawyers Amy Carlin and Alan Futerfas in the papers filed Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The lawyers said Eric Trump had proposed several dates after the election for the under-oath grilling due to his “extreme travel schedule” and “to avoid the use of his deposition attendance for political purposes.”

The AG has been in “weekly if not at times daily talks” for 18 months with the Trump Organization and its employees as part of an investigation into whether the president and his company exaggerated the value of his assets to obtain loans and tax breaks, the filing states.

“Given the importance of avoiding any appearance of politicizing the investigatory process, we respectfully submit that the proposed dates are reasonable,” Eric Trump’s lawyers wrote.

The AG’s office previously filed a motion alleging that the president’s son had “refused entirely to comply” with the subpoena, asking a judge to force him to sit for questioning.

The AG has also accused the Trump Organization and its staffers of refusing to hand over financial records.

Trump has slammed James’ investigation, saying she is “harassing all of my New York businesses in search of anything at all they can find to make me look as bad as possible.”
