#Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet Film’s New Trailer Announces Simultaneous Worldwide Release

The latest trailer for the Detective Conan anime franchise’s 24th feature film Meitantei Conan: Hiiro no Dangan / Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet was posted on YouTube last night. The trailer featuring the film’s theme song “Eien no Fuzaishoumei” (The Scarlet Alibi) by Tokyo Jihen has been attached to the special compilation film Meitantei Conan: Hiiro no Fuzai Shoumei  / Detective Conan: The Scarlet Alibi, which was released in Japan on February 11, 2021.

The film was originally scheduled to be released in Japan on April 17, 2020, but has been postponed for one year to April 16, 2021, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, so the clip starts with the countdown from that day.  

As announced in the end of the trailer, it has been confirmed that the film will be released in 22 countries/regions in the world simultaneously on April 16, 2021, the same day as the release in Japan. This is the first time in the 25-year history of the anime franchise that a film will be released simultaneously around the world.

The 22 countries/regions are Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and France.

The story is set in Tokyo. The world’s largest sports festival “WSG: World Sports Games,” which only takes place once every four years, is scheduled to be held soon. And it is also announced that the world’s first “vacuum superconducting linear” train will start running from Nagoya to Tokyo in conjunction with its opening ceremony. Then, the event’s prominent sponsors are kidnapped at a party venue. Shuichi Akai is monitoring the incident and FBI is waiting for an instruction from him. Meanwhile, Conan finds a connection between the kidnap and the abominable WSG successive abduction happened in Boston 15 years ago, which was also investigated by FBI. Is this just a coincident? What will happen in Tokyo where people are gathering from all over the world?
