For those who are unaware, Death Stranding is an action game developed by Kojima Productions, which was released in 2019. It wasn’t a very ground-breaking video game, but it gained favorable reviews by critics and fans alike. Death Stranding Director’s Cut, an updated version for PlayStation 5, was announced in June 2021 and will be released on September 24, 2021. While the game preps for its PS5 release, there are already some developments regarding a sequel.

Death Stranding Sequel

Actor Norman Reedus has seemingly revealed the plans game director Hideo Kojima has for the Death Stranding sequel. During a roundtable for Walking Dead Season 11, Norman Reedus said, “I think we’re doing a second Death Stranding”. Norman Mark Reedus is an American actor, model, and television host, who voice Sam Porter in Death Stranding.

According to him, the sequel is currently under negotiations and might be under development very soon. Previously Hideo Kojima of Kojima Productions hinted at a possibility of a new untitled game, which we now believe was Death Stranding sequel. In a tweet from Kojima, fans spotted a sketch of an airship-like vessel on which BRIDGES was written.

Fans know that Bridges is a company in the world of Death Stranding that was formed to reconnect the fractured society of the USA. So, it was a direct hint at something based on the Death Stranding universe itself. Earlier we believed that if not a sequel, it could be a spin-off. But now after Reedus’s statement, we are sure it is going to be a sequel.

Norman Reedus

Norman Reedus is a popular actor, especially among the fans of Walking Dead. He portrays Daryl Dixon who is the main character and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC’s The Walking Dead. His character is one of the only ones who have survived 10 seasons of Walking Dead. Apart from this, he is also known for movies like The Boondock Saints (1999), The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (2009), Marvel’s Blade II (2002), and Deuces Wild (2002).

In the gaming industry, he has voiced the protagonist in P.T. and Darlyn Dixon in The Walking Dead: Survival instinct as well as Fortnite. In Death Stranding, he voices Sam Porter Bridges who is a legendary porter and member of Bridges. He plays an integral role in expanding the Chiral Network and making the United Cities of America whole by embarking on a westward expedition.

So far, whatever this guy revealed has proven to be true. Also, since he is a major part of the game, we can trust his word. Still, let us wait for some official information, and till then, watch out for Death Stranding Director’s Cut which comes out on PS5 on September 24.
