President Trump on Tuesday said efforts by protesters to create an “Autonomous Zone” in the capital will be “met with serious force.”

“There will never be an ‘Autonomous Zone’ in Washington, D.C., as long as I’m your President. If they try they will be met with serious force!,” Trump wrote on twitter.

The post comes after the president on Monday warned protesters who tried to topple a statue of President Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Park and vandalized the pillars in front of historic St. John’s Episcopal Church with “BHAZ “- Black House Autonomous Zone.

It’s similar to the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone protesters carved out in a downtown area of Seattle.

Trump said he wouldn’t stand for protesters vandalizing statues.

“Numerous people arrested in D.C. for the disgraceful vandalism, in Lafayette Park, of the magnificent Statue of Andrew Jackson, in addition to the exterior defacing of St. John’s Church across the street,” he tweeted Monday night.

“10 years in prison under the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act. Beware!”

Protesters tied ropes around the Jackson statue and spray-painted “Killer” on its base before US Park and DC police dispersed the crowd.

Trump visited the church on June 1, just after the president threatened to invoke an 1807 law that would allow him to deploy US military troops to break up violent protests.
