#De Blasio visits mom of slain Brooklyn 1-year-old, vows to catch killer

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Monday visited the grieving mother of a 1-year-old Brooklyn boy killed by a stray bullet, paying his respects and vowing to catch the man responsible.

“I told her we were here for her,” Hizzoner revealed to reporters after the meeting on the same Bedford-Stuyvesant block where tragic tot Davell Gardner was killed late Sunday night. “That we all were feeling what she is feeling, in some way.”

Gardner, just two months shy of his second birthday, was shot in the stomach when at least two gunmen opened fire on a family barbecue outside Raymond Bush Playground.

Three adult men attending the gathering were also wounded in the shooting.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea visited the mother earlier Monday, but authorities did not immediately identify a suspect or motive in the attack.

“We are going to be here for her, the whole community,” said de Blasio, after the brief, roughly three-minute meeting held out of earshot of reporters.

The mayor also vowed to bring those responsible to justice, following a plea earlier Monday by Gardner’s grandmother to catch the “bastards” behind the slaying.

“We are going to find that person,” de Blasio told reporters. “I guarantee it.”
