Mayor Bill de Blasio was conspicuously missing Monday night from a video montage at the Democratic National Convention showing most of the party’s former 2020 presidential candidates.
But it’s possible the mayor wasn’t watching and didn’t even realize the omission considering he admitted Monday night that he was unaware the convention was taking place this week.
Other notable candidates — including Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Bernie Sanders and former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg — were also left out. But unlike de Blasio, all three are scheduled to speak at the four-day virtual nominating convention.
Bloomberg is slated to present despite the lack of support from several of his former campaign workers who called on the Democratic Party to drop their former boss from the lineup, CNN reported.
The six former employees are suing Bloomberg over claims he lied by firing them once he dropped his presidential bid.
