The day Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow predicted as the end of the world has come and gone.

The doomsday-obsessed couple — who are in custody on charges tied to the disappearance and death of two of Vallow’s children — believed the apocalypse would hit Wednesday, according to Idaho outlet KSL-TV.

Friends have said the husband and wife were part of a doomsday cult called Preparing a People, which believes in readying for the second coming of Jesus Christ and the end of days.

Daybell has penned numerous books about the end of the world and even wrote about a past career as a gravedigger. He claimed to have had visions of two earthquakes hitting the Wasatch Front in Utah as a sign of the impending Judgement Day.

“The first one is moderate and it disrupts life for a few weeks. Many older brick buildings crumble and roads suffer damage, but repairs are made quickly,” he wrote in a September 2015 blog post, according to the station.

In his 2007 end-of-times book “The Great Gathering,” he described a 5.7 magnitude quake, specifically. Eerily, a quake of that magnitude shook the Magna, Utah, area on March 18.

Vallow also has a documented history of doomsday beliefs.

“We are gathering together as saints, as brothers and sisters and preparing for the second coming,” she said in a 2018 podcast, as reported by the outlet.

She also spoke about her radical beliefs to her former husband, Charles Vallow, according to his sister, Kay Woodcock.

“To tell she [Lori] is a chosen one, that she is now a God and it is now up to her to help vet 144,000 so that they will be there for the second coming in July of 2020. I think it’s July 22. I don’t know what is going to happen on July 23,” Kay told KSL in January.

Charles expressed his concerns over Lori’s mental state in court documents filed in February 2019, amid their divorce and custody battle.

“[Lori] informed [Charles] that she was a God assigned to carry out the work of the 144,00 at Christ’s second coming in July 2020 and that if [Charles] got in the way of her mission she would murder him,” the filing states.

The couple adopted Woodcock’s grandson, Joshua “JJ” Vallow. When trying to pick up the boy last July in Phoenix, Charles was shot dead by Lori’s brother Alex Cox, who claimed self-defense.

Cox died of an apparent blood clot in his lungs at his home in Arizona last December.

Seven-year-old JJ and his sister, 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, went missing in September. Their remains were found buried on Daybell’s Idaho property last month.

Vallow, 46, and Daybell, 51, have been charged with conspiring to hide or destroy the bodies of the children.

They are being held in jail on $1 million bond each.
